   The wall clock Howard Miller Clock Co Ball clock, model 4755 (1950) is a European version of the classic ball clock, created by George Nelson especially for Howard Miller. The Ball clock was originally made in Bern, Switzerland by Fehlbaum Brothers in the 1950s. George Nelson is an architect, designer, writer, and one of the most influential specialists who contributed to the development of the American modernist design movement of the mid-twentieth century.
Within George Nelson & Associates, New York, founded by George Nelson, he was designing furniture, home decor and accessories including for Howard Miller Clock. The ball clock is one of the iconic items created by a group of designers from George Nelson & Associates, including George Nelson himself.
   The clock consists of twelve copper spokes with lacquered wooden balls made of birch at their ends. In the center, the watch has a round copper base with the hour, minute and second clockhands of a bizarre abstract shape attached to. According to the word of the creators of the clock, its shape is similar to the spherical model of the atom, which became a symbol of the post-war atomic age. The clock is equipped with a high quality quartz clockwork and runs on a single AA battery.
   The wall clock has a recognizable abstract design and is suitable for decorating interiors of living rooms, offices, foyers, kitchens, made in the style of American Art Nouveau of the middle of the 20th century, in the style of avant-garde, pop art, eclecticism, kitsch and other modern stylistic directions.
